PAD Settings & Configuration

Learn how to configure and customize your PADs

⚙️
PAD Settings Overview

By pressing the Settings button for a PAD, you can configure the following options:

  • 1

    Change PAD Name

Customize the name of your PAD for better organization and identification during live performances.

  • 2

    Load Background Image

Replace the default color background with a custom image to create visual themes for your PADs.

  • 3

    Content Selection

Choose between: Song/Loop playback, MIDI settings (CC/Note/SysEx), or both simultaneously for maximum flexibility.

🔗
Group ID - Group Functionality

When you assign two or more PADs to the same Group ID (e.g., Group 1):

🔄

Exclusive Playback

PADs in the same group don't play simultaneously. They function as a switcher - when one plays, others stop.

⏱️

Wait for Loop

When enabled, the next PAD doesn't start immediately but waits for a time boundary, like a measure completion.

💡 Example

If a loop has a 4-measure duration with "Wait for Loop" enabled, each PAD press triggers the switch at the correct timing - entering the next PAD at the right beat.

🎹
MIDI Types & Modes

You can select from the following MIDI types, each with its own parameters:

🎛️

Control Change (CC)

Send MIDI Control Change messages for parameter control like volume, filter cutoff, or effects.

🎵

Note

Trigger MIDI notes with customizable Note Number, velocity, and channel settings.

🔧

SysEx

Send System Exclusive messages for advanced device control and parameter changes.

🎮
PAD Operation Modes

There are 3 available modes for each PAD:

1

Momentary

MIDI command is sent while the PAD is pressed. Like a pressed switch: On when pressed, Off when released.

2

Toggle

First press sends On, second press sends Off. Ideal for toggles like mute/unmute or start/stop.

3

One-Shot

Sends only the On command each time pressed. Useful for FX sounds like sirens, horns, etc.

Advanced Features

🔧
SysEx Special Settings

When you select SysEx, additional settings appear:

  • 1

    On/Off Commands

Available only for Toggle mode. Define separate commands for On and Off states.

  • 2

    SysEx ON Data Field

Enter the command to be sent. F0 and F7 are added automatically. Only hexadecimal numbers allowed (e.g., 7E 7F 09 01).

🎼
Pitch Shifting (Key Note Control)

Enable Key Note (Pitch Shifting) to transpose audio to different notes:

🎹

Original Note

The original key of the song or loop (e.g., A, C#, etc.).

🎯

Target Note

The new key you want the audio to play in when the PAD is triggered.

⚠️ Important Note

When Pitch Shifting is active, changes to BPM, tempo, or tuning don't apply in real-time. Instead, the song automatically restarts from the beginning to properly synchronize the changes.

🔄
Loop Audio Control

When Loop Audio is enabled, the PAD plays the loop in repeat mode:

⏱️

Original BPM

The authentic speed of the loop (in beats per minute).

🎯

Target BPM

The speed you want the PAD to play at. Adjust to sync with your project or set.

💡 Recommendation

For loops, it's recommended to disable Pitch Shifting so BPM changes happen in real-time without restarting the audio file.
